Spanish Lessons

Spanish lessons are taught by our experienced instructors. Lessons are built around your schedule and individualized to your needs; levels range from complete beginner to advanced, and one-on-one instruction insures that student learn and progress quickly in their studies.

Lessons cover both general and medical Spanish, but focus on the grammar and vocabulary needed in order to interact with and treat patients. The standard program has 10 hours of instruction per week included in the tuition and additional lessons are offered upon request.

Clinical Experience

Medspanish students are placed in a variety of medical settings, dependent on educational level, language skills and personal preference.

Previous students have been placed at local clinics, the public hospital and with the Red Cross.

What should I expect from the clinical portion of the program?

Health care in Mexico is different from what Americans are used to. While the wealthy have access to very high quality physicians and hospitals, resources are scarce for the poor. Nevertheless, health care in Mexico is a constitutional right, and government-run facilities often have surprisingly good preventative and outreach programs.

Medspanish students are in a unique learning position. Our program trains students in language skills and cultural sensitivity, allowing students to successfully interact with patients and Spanish-speaking medical professionals.
